Publish your website

Put your site on a free address or your own domain, and update it later.

Open Publish in the editor. The panel is titled Publish your site.

Illustration of the Publish panel: 1 the website address, 2 the custom domain option marked Pro, 3 the Publish button.

  1. Your website URL is where your site goes live.
  2. Add custom domain puts your site on your own domain.
  3. Publish puts the site online.

Your free address

Your site goes live on an address on ecomgear.app, for example simple.preview.ecomgear.app. Choose Edit address to change the name. The panel checks it as you type and tells you whether it is Available or Already taken. After you publish, the panel shows Live at your address, with Open site and Copy URL.

Your own domain

Choose Connect a custom domain in the same panel. A custom domain needs a plan (the option is marked Pro) or the free month that comes with registering a domain with us. See Your free month.

Your domain asks for both DNS records at your registrar: a CNAME record and a TXT record that verifies it. Add them there, then press Check DNS. When both are found, press Verify DNS and Go Live.

Who can see it

A published site is Public: anyone with the URL can open it. The panel also has SEO & Search settings for how your site appears in search results.

Updating your site

After you change your site, press Update to put the new version online. Visitors keep seeing the old version until you do.

If Publish says the preview is not ready

You may see Preview must be ready before publishing or Your website is still loading into the preview.

  1. Wait a moment and check that your pages show in the preview.
  2. Press Publish again.
  3. If your pages show and it still refuses, reload the editor and try once more.
  4. If it keeps happening, contact us with your project name.
